I agree with the points @gcaw makes about forgiveness. They are worth every single one of us taking to heart.

But within the Teen Vogue discourse, the central & undiscussed piece is how the organization set up everyone involved (existing staff & the prospective hire) to fail. Staff involved in hiring process seemed to have weighed in with openness to any candidate & concerns over experience.

Alexi is an awesome reporter, but didn't have experience being an editor (or EIC) or running a digital first pub w/ a broad focus, including fashion/culture.

For those keeping score at home:

The President refused to invoke the Defense Production Act to mobilize and save lives quickly against COVID-19.

But he didn't hesitate to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act to deploy the military on American streets against protests. Related, law enforcement just cleared a peaceful protest in Lafayette Park with teargas so that the President can visit the church closest to his house (that he doesn't attend regularly) for a photo op.

Ended a peaceful protest with teargas for a photo op.

This morning, @Facebook announced that it removed assets for “coordinated inauthentic behavior” from Russia, Iran, & Myanmar.

We saw some new things & re-confirmed a bunch of things about efforts from Russia & Iran.

But the assets removed deriving from Myanmar were wild.

1/ On the Russia efforts, the biggest takeaways included that info operations are not exclusive to one platform, efforts are getting more sophisticated, and harder for #OSINT to attribute.

Good report from @Graphika_NYC.

I was literally in the last motorcade to leave the WH from the Obama Admin at 11:59am on January 20, 2017.

This is 💯 not true.

The transition period was thorough & nonpolitical. It was a huge priority & based on the professional transition from 43 to 44.
@abbydphillip The credit for setting the tone and implementing the professional transition from 44 to 45 goes to COS @DenisMcDonough.
