Since we're all talking Roe v Wade, abortion, and reproductive justice...

Here's a thread 🧵 of shit NOT to do or say right now. 1. Do not create inaccessible resources.

If you're sharing photos, charts, etc., put alt text on those for those of us who are visually impaired, blind, have migraines, struggle to read text on images, etc.

Don't be inaccessible while talking about lack of access, k?

Reminder for my fellow #MCAS folks: First-generation NSAIDs help add more histamines to your body. For those wondering more about NSAIDs, here's a list.

*Note: not all NSAIDs do this, so don't fret! COX-2 inhibitors do not and actually work to help limit prostaglandins.

Let's talk about why, although this may be frustrating, it is ableist, classist, elitist, and more.

It's also really bad doctoring.

[ Little discussion ]

Hard agree.

I experience a lot of Little-ness when my POTS or other conditions are acting up. If I'm honest, a part of me is always Little - it just adjusts due to all the factors.

I shouldn't have to avoid certain spaces because of this. [ more on Little life and illness/disability ]

I've learned more since writing this and should write an update tbh.

For #WorldMentalHealthDay I want to see more discussions around how systems of oppression - like racism - continue to harm folks.

When I started @ChronicSexChat six years ago, I could have never imagined where my life would lead because of that decision.

I've been spending the little extra time I have lately making some much-needed updates to the site. New content is coming, including info on bias, better organized info, and some fun new ideas.

I still need to make some tweaks, but here's one example.

This is part of it.

The other part is that folks think someone who did something evil must be inherently evil, that they are monsters.

In reality, the lack of nuanced discussion of how evil acts and operates in the world is tied to othering which is tied to white supremacy. As @OkkervilRiver said,

Now, with all these cameras focused on my face
You'd think they could see it through my skin
They're looking for evil, thinking they can trace it, but
Evil don't look like anything
Evil don't look like anything

Here's the only thing I don't get here...

Why are we separating HCPs and patients? Why aren't patients getting access to the Friday sessions with their registration?

What's up with that?

Why has @UofUNeurology assumed patients with #POTS may not also be providers or otherwise involved in healthcare?

Or seemingly taken into account that we often have to help others get diagnoses and, therefore, should be getting this same info?

Did you know they have a beta version of the new update of the ADA website?

It's beautiful!

This morning, I remembered that it's the 6th - the day Matthew Shepard was beaten up and left for dead.

That's sadly not a thing of the past.

Josh recently came out. Hit by a car Sunday, his pride flag was also torn down and replaced with Trumper BS.

gofundme.com/f/ssfmy-joshua… He wasn't found until Monday morning, lying in a ditch.

He has a broken leg and multiple brain hemorrhages. Local hospitals in Indiana *could not treat him* so he's in Chicago.

It will be a long road to recovery for him, including a ton of rehab.
