What's the road ahead?

Not sure...but coming from a battleground district and after a better than expected win in Ohio, I have a sense of what could be next.

10 lessons I learned from the election. 🧵👇🏼 1) People are clearly frustrated with the economy and politics. Trump won big, picked up voters across almost every demographic, and folks cited the economy and immigration as top concerns. We have to meet them where they are.

I represent 800K people in Congress from Southwest Ohio. They’re hardworking and kind, and they care about their families, neighbors, and communities.

But I also represent JD Vance... 🧵 Right now, Mr. Vance is running one of the cruelest, most chaotic, and downright *weirdest* campaigns for Vice President we've ever seen.

Mr. Vance is my constituent in Southwest Ohio, and we both grew up in Butler County at the same time.

So I have thoughts… Following the horrific assassination attempt of former president Trump, there was a collective call for unity in our politics.

But Mr. Vance is not a unity selection.

I was waiting for the results of the 14th vote on #Speaker when I saw Kevin #McCarthy walking toward us.

Within seconds, a confrontation and fight broke out. Just a few feet from me, a newly elected member eager to get sworn in and start a job I’ve dreamed of doing for years. It all happened on the floor of the House of Representatives, in the waning moments of #January6th and the second anniversary of the violent attack on our Capitol.

The whole thing made me sick to my stomach.
