OK, this is an open message to @LayahHeilpern.

Depression.

Layah, I know you and I disagree on a number of topics. This message is about one specific topic, and one topic only.

I implore your followers to please stick to this topic.

I have watched your career grow over the past few years, as you have gone from "healthcare should only be for those who can afford it", to being a cheerleader for Tate, through the gamut of controversial topics of the last few years as you have realised how you can monetise them.

The problem with this argument is that companies *are* using XRP as an intermediate for cross border payment. As in, right now. 25% of all volume on RippleNet (which itself is quite a significant volume) is carried by XRP. Not only that, how would you use stablecoins? Stable to which currency? The XRP Ledger was the first blockchain to have stablecoins, and feedback from financial institutions was they didn't want to use them due to counterparty risk. Hence using XRP as a bridge asset.

ISO20022. There is a lot of confusion about this standard for financial industry messaging. In the cryptocurrency space, a lot of people refer to "ISO20022 compliant cryptocurrencies". This is a non-sequitur. ISO20022 does not define cryptocurrencies, it is related to messages 1/ In fact ISO20022 doesn't even define messages. It defines a set of process and standards for defining messages. So for example it doesn't say "A payment message must have an amount field defined like this". It says "A message must articulate the fields it wants like this" 2/

Today I did the ultimate tech McGuyver… my MacBook’s screen is dead. But external monitor would not work because I’d disabled external GPU trying to troubleshoot. Effectively locking me out. Screen sharing and sshd disabled so couldn’t log in over the network… I (accidentally mashing keys) enabled VoiceOver which told me when I had the username field highlighted on the login box. Logged in. Then inspired by that asked Siri to open Terminal. Was then able to type in (blind) command to re-enable external GPU! And it worked!!

Slight technical delay, but sorted now... live in 1 minute :) See you there. Arrrgggg… beset by technical problems, root cause of which is I think my laptop GPU dying. Then just as I was signing off the power in our neighbourhood cut

1/n Dear Bitcoiners. Next time someone tells you that the #XRP Ledger is more decentralised than #BTC, and you look at them dumbfounded, this is why. The fact this is even contemplated shows the issue. 3-4 mining pools control >51% of the authority 2/ if someone were able to persuade 3-4 key people that a re-org would be a good idea, then it could happen. In this case it is the damage to Binance’s (fine) reputation that would prevent them from doing it. But a malicious actor might not have that concern. With XRP there
