On Remembrance Day, all Canadians join me in remembering and honouring all those who served. This year, let's look deeper and learn about the stories of those that fought for Canada but who did not get the recognition they deserved. torontosun.com/opinion/column… Remember Jeremiah Jones, who captured enemy troops and their machine gun at Vimy Ridge.

I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Master Warrant Officer (Retd) George Chow, who bravely served Canada during the Second World War. He was a part of the first Canadian gun crew to shoot down a German plane. He fought on the beaches of Normandy. He did not shy away from being at the ready to serve. Upon returning to Canada, he continued to serve as a Gunnery Instructor. He was honourably discharged in 1963.

Today, Canadians proudly mark Indigenous Veterans’ Day. We recognize the contributions and remember the sacrifices made by First Nations, Inuit and Métis in uniform. canada.ca/en/veterans-af…

This year, as we mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we remember Veterans like Willard Bolduc of the Ojibwa Nation. He earned the Flying Cross for his brave actions as an air gunner during bombing raids over occupied Europe. veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembranc… Image

Last night, Don Cherry made comments that are wrong in describing Canadians' remembrance of our veterans. His remarks don't recognize the contribution of Canada's diverse communities. I hope we can turn this into a moment where we can learn about about all who have served. 1/7 All Canadians should remember the sacrifice made by the Chinese Canadian community, like #Vancouver-born, Frank Wong. He was on Juno Beach & was there for the liberation of Holland during the Second World War. 2/7
