SEO analysis 101:
-Segment a website into clusters and track your performance.
The first steps to analyze websites (the right way) 🧵
Divide pages into sections and start looking for the query count and impressions for each topic.
Why?
Because Google will only rank you for many queries if it believes you are a relevant source.

Let's face it; SEO is not easy, even if you have the most advanced tech stack.
that's simply because nothing can replace the human experience.
let me show you how I'm creating strategies and audits (that best AI technology can't do) 🧵
First, you need to audit the activities before traffic growth to understand what's working.
This applies to your website and competitors.
Don't follow some absolute statements like "you should publish 30 articles a month"
That's because no advice works for all niches.

Almost %80 of #SEO strategies are based on ranking blog pages.
The results? poor decisions with no benefit in terms of revenues.
even the most advanced technical SEO checklist won't help you in such a case.
This Thread will help you to get sustainable traffic using on data 🧵
honestly, it's quite embarrassing if you choose some tools over GSC just because "this is how our agency works"
then you'll face the long-term consequences.
To avoid such a situation, you need to know where you should look for legitimate insights
but how?

Money pages aren't performing well in search results? Perhaps it shows up for informational queries.
You should assess your strategy when you have decent traffic but poor conversion rates.
GSC and GA can give you the whole picture in such a situation
🧵
First, check out Google's index.
If the transactional pages are in the index, start there; if not, create a new page and send traffic there.
You may view the number of times the Googlebot viewed these URLs by adding the log file to your view.

Google updates hit nearly 82% of the websites that I audited recently.
The reasons differ, but typically it's the result of content decay and an unorganized website structure.
What should you do if you notice a recent decline in traffic?
Read this step-by-step thread 🧵
Start by looking at both GSC and Bing Webmaster Tools to see if the graph is down on both.
If only Google's graph is down for a long period, then it's likely to be a hit from a recent update.
How do you distinguish between hits and seasonal effects?

I tried all the E-A-T tips back in the day but didn't get any promising results.
That's why I like to play more long-term.
I've made a list of observations from big sites on how they approach E-E-A-T 🧵 (New ideas only)
Disclaimer: It makes no difference how many best practices you employ if your brand lacks experts (or even tries to look like an expert).

When I was an SEO beginner, I used to go to GSC and sort by clicks/impressions.
When I had intermediate experience, I used to add related queries in the intros/first headings.
I do this now as an expert (resources provided) ⬇️
1. Cluster the data
Clustering helps me divide a website into different topics.
Then check the SEO metrics for each topic.
For instance, instead of just looking at the overall number of clicks over time, you can check the total number of clicks that each topic is generating.

SEO Case Study in the Loans Niche
This website ranks for over 1 million keywords and generates hundreds of affiliate leads each month.
It's been 2.5 years now since I launched this website.
This thread will be my longest thread so far.
🧵 Here's the full journey:
Disclaimer: I can't go through all the variables in this case study, and traffic alone means nothing if you can't monetize it smartly.
It is extremely difficult to achieve 110K organic monthly traffic for a finance website.
Unless you know what you're doing.

Topical authority != Content velocity.
This concept is misused by some folks. Just use real-world examples to ensure you understand it.
Here are some facts (and examples) concerning topical authority 🧵
Read time: 4 minutes
Topical authority corresponds with topical coverage.
The more information you provide and the different perspectives you take on a subject, the higher your topical authority score.
Only one piece of false information can jeopardize your credibility.

Do you want to make your own niche websites?
Recently, big websites have started removing product review pages since they know the consequences.
Then ignore the hype that "niche sites are easy, just publish a lot!"

I successfully built Topical clusters, managed my writers' flow, and planned internal links with an easy Airtable Base.
In this thread, I'll explain each view so you can do something similar 🧵
The Airtable base consists of the following views:
- Articles
- Plan Periods
- Due Dates
- Keywords
- Internal Links
- Products

SEO competitor analysis is not straightforward. The end goal is to know what they're doing right and imitate it.
I'm against replicating other websites, as you forget the value proposition.
When conducting a competitor analysis, follow these steps:

You already know the basics:
-Target your competitors' keywords and backlinks.
That's cool, but everybody does that, so it lost its power.

It's nice to see some SEOs argue whether HTML is a ranking factor.
Even though that means nothing, they don't even have case studies about that.
Let me explain the alternative:
(Read time: 2 mins)
Let's start with the first option. You want to trick Google into ranking for money keywords.
You'll fall into one of these categories:
-You'll not manage to be indexed
-You manage to rank today but get hit by unconfirmed updates.

SEO external tools are awesome for hints but don't heavily rely on them.
If all people have the same access to the same tools, how do you find your spot?
Let me tell you.

Tools are the future, but if they make you lazy to do your job, then it's bad.
Of course, it saves you time but automation could be bad sometimes.
That's why all courses teach you how to use tools, not to understand the nature of data but to get insights.
