In Pakistan we have a habit of talking about rule of law then expect to be cheered as we flout it. If one PM decides it’s ego bruising for him to be voted out as PM and resorts to unconstitutional means to wrap up an entire system...1/n
Then this constitutional aberration is called ‘surprise’ or ‘googly’ it just shows how far we’ve fallen in the rule of law project. When the highest office holders collude to do this it is not a ‘surprise’ it is a breach of oath to protect and preserve the constitution. 2/n

Anyone who s celebrating what's happening in #Afghanistan is bereft of a sense of history and perspective. This region needs to breathe and till the time Afghanistan remains in turmoil, the region will never be free to proposer or progress. 1/n

Now the only hope is the talks between what is left of the Afghan govt and the Taliban apparently happening tomorrow in #Doha - 2/n
