Here is the story of the biggest allegation against Nikola that did NOT make it into the Hindenberg Report--and why it was left off.
Please read this whole thread. It is an important story, and delves into some of the unexpected issues that can face whistleblowers. 1/x As I researched Nikola in August 2020, one of my biggest questions was: "What are they doing for batteries?" I had already discovered that Trevor was falsely stating that off the shelf inverters were made by Nikola, & I suspected something similar was happening w/ batteries. 2/x

I read Trevor's June 2020 interview with Bloomberg this morning. Unsurprisingly, it was full of lies. That's what liars do--they lie. And when they get caught in a lie, they tell different lies. This is a skill that Trevor has, and he uses it here fluently.

Thread:
1/ Trevor's answer to Bloomberg's allegations that the Nikola One prototype was not functional was to say that it was made nonfunctional for safety reasons. This is a lie. It was not functional because Trevor ran out of time, expertise and (probably) money to make it functional.

So, let's talk about the Nikola Two. For those who don't know, that's the two trucks that they had Bosch design and build for them a couple of years ago. It's their ace in the hole--a truck that runs! We've all seen videos of it limping around the parking lot.

Please read on... So, the Nikola Two does run. But does it run well? No. In one of Trevor's most brazen and bizarre lies, he claimed that it could do 0-60 in under five seconds, when anyone could see it took at least 10 seconds. Trevor deleted the video, but here it is:

It wasn't the biggest news to drop this weekend, but the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal both confirmed the rumor that Nikola signed a contract with Romeo Power to use their batteries in the Tre. Here is a (long) thread explaining why this is so important.

1/
Not only does this represent yet another lie from Nikola (Trevor stated on several occasions that the Tre would be using Nikola batteries) but it also has forced them to make a grave design error. This thread will be a little technical, but I'll try to explain this crucial error.

When Trevor switched from CNG to H2, he didn’t want the range to decrease so he arbitrarily kept it at 1200 miles. At the show, he defended the range with numbers “based on our testing”. They weren’t—the truck wasn’t done. And they ended up being off by more than a 2x factor. All this time he was taking preorders with deposits—for an order value book of billions of dollars if you believe his numbers. And then he used that to raise huge investment. THAT is why this is such a huge scandal. The lie about the functional truck mattered.

Who is the CIO of Nikola? Well, according to LinkedIn, there are two people: Morgan Mackelprang since 2015 and Isaac Sloan since 2019. Obviously they don't have two CIOs, and since Isaac is more recent and listed on the website, he is the real one. Read on...

#NikolaGate So apparently Morgan never updated his LinkedIn to reflect that he is not their CIO. But who is Morgan Mackelprang? In short, he is one of Trevor Milton's closest deputies. They go way back.

OK, so let's talk about ZapGo. For those of you who have not read the Hindenburg Report, one of the allegations is that the "game changing battery tech" that Nikola teased back in November was a failed attempt to buy British vaporware company ZapGo. Now it has always been obvious what Nikola's response was going to be "Oh, we weren't talking about THAT vaporware company, it's a different one". And indeed, VP Jason Roycht, who plays a role as the hapless dipshit who was conned by these guys, is already telegraphing this.

Tonight, Trevor is going to be up all night trying to come up with lies that he thinks are plausible enough to get away with.

Helping him will be his fixer, Nikola CLO Britton Worthen.

Those two go way back, before Nikola even started. The thing is, Britton knows exactly what the score is. He was with us helping throw things together in the last few days when it was all hands on deck to make the Nikola One look complete. He knows that his letter to Ed Ludlow was a lie.

Check out this video starting at about 23:30. In this video, Trevor was trying to prove that Nikola has tech capabilities.

#NikolaGate #nklaq In it, he claims that the inverters are made in house, and boasts about how they are the best in the world and that other OEMs ask him to use them.

But you can clearly see the units in the video. Earlier there's an even better close up shot to scrutinize.

Those of you who live in the SLC area should go do the #NikolaChallenge : take your car out to the Mormon Trail, where Trevor faked his truck driving, put your car in neutral and see how fast you can roll! Post your results here with the #NikolaChallenge hash tag.

I have spoken before about the Nikola One mockup, but I will go into more details now. The truck was actually designed to be functional, but Nikola couldn't pull it off. Trevor hired a team from Portland OR to develop the drivetrain. #Trevorgate #Nikolagate $NKLA #NKLA #NKLAQ He claimed to have turbine technology but of course he didn't. He hired Brayton Energy to do that part of it. E-Axles were designed by AM Racing Inc, Inverters were off the shelf from Rinehart Motion Systems. EVDrive Inc. did the batteries and other system design.

Trevor's fraud didn't start with Nikola. The deal he inked with GM was the culmination of a decade of fraud. He started with a stolen patent, a family connection, and the balls to lie to Swift Transportation and leveraged it into what he has now. #NKLA #NKLAQ #Trevorgate This is the story of dHybrid Inc. In late 2009, Trevor found out that a former neighbor of his was doing conversions of Diesel trucks to Diesel/Natural Gas hybrids. He got his pickup converted (rolled it a few months later, see my banner) and liked the savings.

Where to start? As you all know, I alleged that the Nikola One was not functional. I will have more details about that later today. But just to give you an idea of the lengths Nikola went to lie, let me tell you the story about when they rolled it down a hill. #Trevorgate Some of you may remember this video. It was the first time a Nikola Truck was seen moving. But the truck was not functional. I found out that the truck was rolled down a steep hill, so I set out to find out where it happened.

How long before Trevor starts SpaceY (pronounced "Space-wee"). Just picture it. "This is really exciting" said executive chairman Trevor Milton. "This is going revolutionize space. No one has ever done anything like this before." "Our rockets use Hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe. No one has ever done that before" (Reader, they have). "Our rockets will be able to refuel using the Nikola network, which will make them cheaper than our competitors."

Who are you going to believe, your own lying eyes or Trevor?

What a bizarre lie. We can all watch the video and see when the truck starts moving, when they point to the speedo and say “there it is” and that it wasn’t slowing down for the second half of the video. I’m sure after several weeks of editing it will “show” zero to 60 in under 5 seconds though. 🙄

Trevor’s word salad about the “HTML Supercomputer” reminds me of a funny story.

They wanted to use this whiz bang infotainment chip from nvidia on the Nikola One. “We are one of only three companies they’ll sell it to” boasted Trevor.

Reader, they weren’t. They weren’t able to get the chip, and they ended up kludging in a couple of super cheap off the shelf screens.

Trevor is always talking about “top three companies this” and “one of the only ones in the world that”.

I don't have a lot of followers, and I haven't currently gotten the attention of anyone big enough to matter (no offense to all my wonderful followers). But Nikola knows and is concerned about me, as evidenced by the fact that their long time PR firm is monitoring this feed. Honestly, I would hang up my spurs and let this all go if Trevor would own up to his lies and apologize. Apologize to Ed for saying that the motors were removed for safety when they actually had never been built. Apologize to Emme for telling her your pusher was not a pusher.
