The scientific method should be applied to malum prohibitum laws. You state your hypothesis on what your law will achieve and by when.

Then you lay out the formula on how success will be measured. This is open and available to everyone to run. If the law is acceptable and people believe the formula will indicate its success, then it can be voted on.

At the end of the allotted time, the studies are done using the formulas and the results must show the desired action happened.

The book I'm writing is post-downfall-of-man, but one where the die-off is quick and most infrastructure is still intact. The remaining humans have massive resources to pool from since everything is just basically left there. I'm having to study minimum viable populations in order to ensure my scenario is at least plausible. I also have to consider that while there is plenty of stuff to start with, repair & rebuilding requires skills that a small population might not have.

I've noticed people saying things like "Your Google skills don't trump medical degrees" often do not actually have medical degrees themselves.

It's a cheap, rhetorical trick, and it actually kind of pisses me off. See, *they* don't hold any sort of medical degrees, and most of their opinions on certain topics come from what they've read on Google, but because you disagree with them, YOU aren't sciencing correctly and HUR DUR SMOOVEBRAIN CLEETUS IS DUMB.

Back to #3DPrintedGuns - I'm a gun guy. I'm making my own guitar from scratch. I 3D print replacement parts for tables. Have a full workshop with a CNC.

Still haven't been able to successfully print a gun. It's not as easy as it's made to be. Give it a few more years,. I'm seeing metal 3D printers starting to become a little more reasonable for the home market (still a niche thing for people with a lot of money).

In all seriousness, this is how I thought the internet was going to change the world. All information, available almost immediately from practically anywhere. I will admit though, that my mind works in a way that makes these kinds of things easy for me, even given relatively little information. I'm good with being presented with immense amounts of data & picking a path that works in short order (as well as detecting BS)

Police abuse always starts with the undesirables. Nobody wants to defend the drug dealing pedophile because, well, he was icky and if the cops accidentally beat him up, so be it, right? Sure, the guy who stole the lady's purse isn't as bad as the pedo, so I guess it's ok that the cops beat him too.

Next, they're kicking the shit out of people with unpaid parking fines.

Reposting this from last night as I'm pretty proud of how these are turning out.
I had an error with the end-caps for the witness stand, so I'm having to rebuild those before I can finish the assembly, but that should hopefully only take 2 hours or so.

Then it's time for sanding, sanding, and some more sanding.

There's something about me that garners a lot of hate - I am *very* much a morning person. When I wake up, it's generally 100% ready to go. I'm rarely groggy in the morning & any haze is instantly wiped away with coffee. 10PM and I'm ready to crash. I hit the pillows and most nights I'm out like a light in minutes. And I rarely need an alarm clock.

If I need to get up at 6:18AM, my body seems to just... wake up around 6 on its own. I don't think I've accidentally overslept in decades.

NOTHING is safe from the SJW Ouroboros. Of course, this is part of "The New Rules" and the complete lack of civility people are complaining about. Changing the name of a dog simply because it fit better in a tweet was harmless. I'm sure the *intent* was not racist. But that doesn't matter.

Doxxing someone's husband with the goal of getting them fired (and being successful) and cheering it on?

While I deplore the tactic, you guys use it assuming you could do so with impunity. You are now getting a taste of the rules you put in play, I don't care. You want to set the rules that people should be punched in the face because of their political views, I can't muster much sympathy when someone else decides YOUR politics are worth face-punching.
