I've had the opportunity to visit Goma, Nyiragongo, and Masisi over the last few days. I wanted to see how the recovery effort is going and establish how #Tshisekedi and his allies, including FDLR, SADC forces and #Burundi, had potentially been planning an attack on #Rwanda. 1/7


I witnessed the aftermath of the battle for Goma airport; the artillery weapons siezed from FARDC and its allied forces/militias; how M23 is managing the unwelcome presence of thousands of troops from SADC countries, including at the airport; spoke to prisoners of war... 2/7

Thought I'd hold my peace but I get a sense that silence in the face of reckless, divisive & highly inflammatory posts that put our reputation & values, as a people and country, in disrepute is not an option. #Rwanda #RwOT 1/12 Someone has literally been shaming women who experienced sexual harassment or even rape, or whose loved ones have been victims, or for simply for denouncing rapists. He went as far as questioning the integrity of our justice system suggesting it is easily swayed by tweets! 2/12
