Next #SGC2022 keynote is Hazuki Mori on @UNOOSA's Space Applications Section and OOSA in general.

"I see that I am between you all and lunch so I will try and keep this interesting."

And Mori is currently studying sustainable development! OOSA has three major roles

Convener: Bring together all the member states for reports, treaties, and more. See #COPUOS

Gateway: Getting space highlighted in Our Common Agenda and releasing the Space 2030 Agenda.

Capacity Builder: Specific activities, including around @UN_SDG

First keynote of #SGC2022 Day 3 is a panel with #IOAG (Interagency Operations Advisory Group) and #CCSDS (Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems). I managed to miss names, sorry about that! IOAG is essentially a collection of space agencies (@NASA, @ESA, @UKspace, @JAXA_en, etc.) that makes sure communications & missions work together. More info here: ioag.org/SitePages/Home…

Space Sustainability time at #SGC2022! We got
Dan Oltrogge of @COMSPOC, @LecasMorgane of @astroscale_HQ, and Al Tadros of @RedwireSpace on stage.

Livestream is here: Dan starting off by recognizing that we are past the era of "space is big, don't worry about it."

Between ASATs, megaconstellations, and a very busy LEO, we can't ignore it anymore. Even if only ~25% of the orbit applications actually turn into reality.

It's @NASA at #SGAC2022! Dep. Administrator @Astro_Pam is taking the stage. Presentation title is "Expanding Access to Space in the Era of Artemis." She starts us off with answering the perennial question "Why go?" Frames it as a venn diagram of Science, Inspiration, and National Posture. "Economy" and "Human Condition" are in the center mutually overlapping section.

Next up at #SGC2022 is Elisa Carcaillon and @gautier_brunet of @LoftOrbital. They represent two different carreer trajectories (Carcaillon went business to engineering, Brunet went engineering to business). Carcaillon did some defense work before moving out "the ethics, maybe not"

After my own heart right there. Congrats on escaping the gravitational field of defense!

Day 2 of #SGC2022 is starting with @dylan of @VoyagerSH. "Space is a new paradigm that inspires us to re-imagine the best version of what humanity can be... that requires that we acknowledge that we aren't living up to our very best." Recommends Victor Frankl's "Man Search of Meaning".

Next @SGC2022 keynote is Marco Brancati of @telespazio. He's hear to talk about a competition launching during #IAC2022 next week. *here

someday I will learn to proofread my tweets, but not this day apparently

So MIT just released its "Strategic Action Plan for Belonging, Achievement, and Composition." Gonna read through it now and provide thoughts.

actionplan.mit.edu/sites/default/…
1/ First off, this is a followup to the 2021 "Five-year Strategic Action Plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" that was widely panned (including by me) as being vague and meaningless.

MIT appears to have taken that plan down but you can find it here: web.archive.org/web/2022060607… 2/
