NEW: When Herman Diaz choked on an orange while held on Rikers Island other detainees banged on a station window asking for the officer on the other side to help. The officer, alone on the housing unit called for medical assistance. But the medical team said a call was never made
Neither @CorrectionNYC or the medical team could explain the discrepancy, according to a new damning report released by the Board of Correction, a jails watchdog.

The situation on #Rikers has worsened. According to information from city's Board of Correction, 21 inmates, 12 jail employees and five correctional health workers have tested positive for #coronavirus up from a total of eight people the day before:
