A 🧵One of the criticisms levelled at @Glinner in a review of his brilliant memoir, is that he doesn’t provide any data to back up his claims. Not a problem. Here is some data to back up what he’s written. 1/ segm.org/ajp_correction… Here’s a paper about detransitioners and their care 2/ tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

Quick 🧵⬇️ In 2016 the @Commonswomequ published a report on the shocking state of sexual assault in schools. They published an update today. Very little has changed & it’s still endemic. Yet schools are insistent on teen boys/girls sharing unisex school toilets 1/ This is the report. Outlining 5500 assaults & 600 rapes in primary & secondary schools over 3 yrs. plus lots of verbal abuse. 2/ publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201617/cm…

Long 🧵about this ⬇️and about #Autism. Something too many charities, activists & celebrities have been quick to ignore in favour of promoting the 'if they say they are, they are' narrative. It really isn't that simple. @genspect @BayswaterSG @Glinner @LuxuryMoon @RooneyRachel 1/ Many detransitioners realised that autism may explain their gender dysphoria. 2021 research by Elie Vandenbussche showed 54% of detransitioners have at least 3 co-morbid conditions with the 3 biggest: Depression, Anxiety Disorders & PTSD. 20% had an ASD Dx & 28% suspected.

1/ A🧵. This thread ⬇️ raises a really important point. Part of the reason that some trans people are making these posts is the prevailing narrative. 2/ For a long time, lobbyists like Stonewall, GIRES, Mermaids & Gendered Intelligence have suggested that being trans in the UK is incredibly dangerous. A lot of narrative has travelled using the messenger of fear.

There is a fundamental confusion about Equality & inclusion. It doesn’t mean ‘treat everyone the same’. It means that everyone should have equal access to opportunity, which means that some groups need to be raised up or accommodations made to enable a level access point. 1/ Different accommodations are needed to enable a fair and achievable access point. Women, people with disabilities, people in the BAME community, the LGBT+ community, people with particular Faith, may all need different things to enable them to participate in varying areas. 2/

1/ @CareQualityComm @Baroness_Nichol @Glinner @trussliz @rcgp @NHSEngland @MattHancock @sueevansprotect @TaviAndPort @Transgendertrd *PLEASE* investigate, or pass onto those who can - this is incredibly dangerous. *A THREAD ABOUT GENDER GP*staging.gendergp.com/gendergp-roads… 2/ GenderGP is the company of Dr Helen Webberley, who set up a private clinic overseas, after she was prevented from practising here by the @gmcuk for prescribing cross sex hormones to a 12 year old. They did a roadshow that shows their lack of care for minors.highlights here.

A bit of a thread. With a 4000% increase in adolescent girls referred to the @TaviAndPort over 10years, a significant proportion with ASD traits, this is a ticking time bomb for many of these girls. At 13 I had my first suicidal thoughts. I had no idea why I felt so disconnected from the world. I felt as though there was Another Planet that I was supposed to be on. Nothing made sense.
