Ken Paxton and George P. Bush are in a runoff. They will wage ugly and abusive campaigns, playing on voters’ fears, and Paxton will win. It will be a masterpiece of shame. 1/7 Image So, it comes down to Democrats on May 24 to nominate the best lawyer who will attract broad support in November so that TX can finally be rid of Paxton. 2/7

Nearly five decades ago, my grandfather, Leon Jaworski, took over as Watergate special prosecutor after the Saturday Night Massacre. He had the guts to take on corruption by fighting for justice. And he succeeded because no one - absolutely no one - is above the law. 1/5 This is why I am running for Texas Attorney General. In Texas, too many of our public officials think they are above the law. The tearing down of our institutions has led us to lose faith in our democracy. 2/5

As I travel across our state, one topic continues to come up in conversation: cannabis. And whether we should #legalizeit in Texas is an important debate we ought to be having.

I know where I stand: I am in support of legalized recreational and medicinal #cannabis in Texas. 1/7 Why is that?
✳️ Legalized recreational & medicinal cannabis will be a money maker for TX. How does 30,000 permanent jobs, $1.1 billion in revenue to add to the state budget & $300 million statewide savings for police & prosecutors sound? It sounds like smart progress to me. 2/7

I’m Joe, a Democrat running to defeat @TXAG Ken Paxton. I’m a 3rd gen TX attorney, former Mayor of Galveston & grandson of Watergate special prosecutor, Leon Jaworski. Are you ready to rid TX of Ken Paxton?

YES! YES! YES!

👇 👇 👇 Ken Paxton is a threat to our TX values & American Democracy. He has 3 indictments on felony securities fraud charges, is being investigated by the FBI for abuse of power, & encouraged the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6. He must be defeated so we can restore integrity to the OAG.

Let's be frank: we've had enough of the shameless conduct of Ken Paxton.
- The indictments
- The Whistleblowers
- The FBI Investigation
- The frivolous Supreme Court filing
- The January 6 Insurrection
- The Winter Freeze
- The State Bar Investigation
And it’s only June 2021. 1/6 Ken Paxton’s contempt for the rule of Law and utter lack of accountability for his lawlessness is a stain on the Lone Star Flag. Paxton must not earn a third term in office. 2/6

#Juneteenth becoming a national holiday is a good step in the right direction & I applaud President Biden & Congress for its passage. I also want to thank & honor Opal Lee, an amazing 94-year-old grandmother, for her tireless efforts to bring Juneteenth national recognition. However, there is much work to be done in our pursuit of #absoluteequality. We will continue to fight to dismantle systemic racism & racial injustice. To demand economic equality & voting access for ALL American citizens.

Ken Paxton’s criminal, unethical and self-dealing behavior in office has cost Texas dearly, and he does not deserve another term. I’m glad to see George P. Bush and other Republicans agreeing with my assessment. 1/4 The Texas AG Republican primary, unfortunately, isn’t going to solve the root problem here: The contest between Paxton and Bush will be for Donald Trump’s endorsement, not to determine who’s best for Texas. 2/4

It is our responsibility to vote and elect our leaders. We cannot allow corrupt politicians to hold elected office. With three felony indictments, we must let @KenPaxtonTX know that no one is above the law.

I will fight for Texans as @TXAG. I will be the people’s attorney. My focus will be on:
✅ Turning Paxton's voter fraud division in a Voter Access Division
✅ Ensuring civil rights for you and your family

@KenPaxtonTX has failed Texans again & again:
Voter suppression
Wasteful spending
Encouraged the Jan 6 attack on our Capital
Tried to overturn a free & fair election
Abandoned Texans last month during the winter storm

It's time to clean house. It's time for spring cleaning. 1/7 I'm Joe Jaworski. A Democrat running to unseat @TXAG #KenPaxton. As your next AG, I promise to:
- Never embarrass you in the SCOTUS
- Support the ACA
- Lead a statewide effort to legalize adult-use cannabis
- Support local decision-making authority 2/7

I will help lead a statewide effort to legalize adult-use recreational purpose cannabis. Texas is ready for a regulated, pro business free market that will create 30,000 direct industry jobs and raise over $1B in revenue every year. 1/6 When we pass legislation to legalize adult-use recreational & medical marijuana it will allow us to treat veterans’ PTSD & chronic pain, & offer a wellness alternative to opioids so Texas can fight a winning war on addiction. It will allow TX to usher in positive and long... 2/6

Crisis makes the obscure suddenly clear, and from our current crisis comes clarity. How did we get here? By trusting our leaders to do the right thing. But they failed us; blaming and vacationing. How do we move forward? 1/5 Support a vision of Texas where we focus on good government, rather than culture wars. Texas has immense resources. Let’s support each other and positively invest in our future. We are all in this together. 2/5

We wake up this morning to learn that Texas has sued Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Ken Paxton has further disgraced the Office of Texas Attorney General with this appalling filing in the United States Supreme Court yesterday, the sole purpose of which is to (1/6) make a last ditch attempt to succeed where President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Guliani has repeatedly failed. It is highly suspect to see the State of Texas is not represented by its own Solicitor General in the Supreme Court, but instead by a “special counsel” (2/6)
