1/ Germany just arrested an accredited parliamentary assistant to Maximilian Krah, the leader of AfD in the June EP elections. I wrote about Guo Jian 郭健, suspected of espionage on behalf of China, and Krah in my recent piece for @ChinaBriefJT

1/ Co-authored a paper on PRC Ministry of Public Security's First Bureau, its most powerful, political security unit. We confirm that the Bureau reverted to its original Chekist name, as rumored in 2020, and map its activities that include political influence work in the US.
2/ The 'new' name Political Security Protection Bureau (政治安全保卫局) refers to the Soviet political protection concept that made the Soviets fund and establish the CCP. The core idea is pacification of frontiers, physical or virtual, and protection of the regime.

1/ Last week, the Czech Republic made international headlines for stopping a shipment of medical supplies that included boxes labelled as Chinese humanitarian aid to Italy. Together with @Aktualnecz, we have looked into the involved parties.

On Sunday, group of Mainland Chinese took down Hong Kong-style Lennon walls on the original Prague Lennon Wall and repainted with "China" and no. 70 with in PRC flag style. All this while taking pics and vids of their conduct yelling "We love China". Hard to get more distasteful.
