Josh is right that the Libertarian Party need a major shift, I don't agree with everything here, but appreciate him raising some tough points.

He also has an actual vision, compared to the Mises Caucus who thought that all that was needed was to be in charge.

🧵🧵🧵 Preface: I completely agree that the LP needs top to bottom bylaws changes and a total overhaul of its structure. I'll leave a lot of the discussion on what those changes should be for another day.

Yesterday, the Libertarian Party released a statement regarding the “Rage Against the War Machine” rally.

The time to talk has passed. This is the time for action.

lp.org/statement-from…

/1
The statement had a principled anti-war message regarding the Russian invasion and properly condemned it.

I am grateful for this, but it comes far too late and the rest of the statement fails to solve the problem at hand.

.@angela4LNCChair, the anti-war movement isn't such a lost cause that we have to partner with pro-war agitators.

Take a principled stand, let's break away and unite the Libertarian Party behind a true anti-war rally!

That drama would make for fantastic press for the LP!

/1 🧵 Instead of the LP being associated with the pro-Putin crowd, the headlines would be "LP breaks away from Kremlin rally, organizes their own anti-war rally"

That would get attention and be an absolute W for the LP!

Some quick thoughts on what the Libertarian Party (or any organization) should do when communication failures happen.

Because they will happen regardless of how careful anyone is.

I do think (and certainly hope) that the racist imagery in the now-deleted meme was unintentional, but that doesn't excuse the failure to take timely corrective action.

This is huge if true. To meet earlier than the 19th would require a unanimous vote by the Senate, which just isn't going to happen.

This also could be a strategic leak to test out the waters and the reaction to the news

Arnold is a Great American.

This might be the best statement I've heard since the 6th.

Amen.

I'm torn on this.

One on hand society is making its stand, and it has every right too.

On the other, this will further sink the right into their delusions. I hope that this wakes people up to the idea that our society will not tolerate their behaviour.

I fear that it will make it worse.

Okay, a few thoughts on Impeachment I want to get out there.

First and most important:

It's the right thing to do.

It's the only thing to do.

1/ But this will put the Senate in a tough position.

If they don't have 17 Republican Senators to convict, they risk empowering Trump just like they did when they failed the first time.

Gonna check in on people who promised me that Trump would win, lets see how they are doing.... On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you?

Someone really really doesn't want to get impeached again.

They need to end this man's threat to this country. The true title of Trumps biography

Fuck Trump. The only time you will ever see me use that word is in regards to that man.

Yeah, the guy who tried to cancel 81 million votes is going to lecture us on cancel culture. Sarah Palin could see Russia from her house, Hawley can't even see the state he registered to vote in from his.

While I'm watching the results from Georgia roll in, I'm doing prep for live tweeting tomorrow. I have found some amazing videos that I will share, but here is a little taste!

(I will start live tweeting at 11 CST tomorrow, Join the discussion!!!)

c-span.org/video/?c493342… You know what other theories are "untested?"

That the earth is flat, that the Loch Ness monster is real, that Al Gore could've declared himself supreme leader.

Hi! You've been referred here because you saw the proof that evidence WAS seen by Judges, but still claimed that they "weren't dismissed on merit".

Here is what the Judge's said about the "merit" of those cases! Hint: it isn't pretty.

🧵THREAD🧵1/ If you haven't already read the original thread, start with that one which proves EVIDENCE was heard

The new thread will show that the Judges also had opinions on the "merits" of the case. The cases will be in the same order.

Jenna is out here literally making things up in the Constitution. The Constitution has never been interpreted as allowing the VP to do anything but open envelopes.

Until they needed the Constitution to say something it doesnt. So I'm thinking about the reply to Jenna's next tweet, should it be:

Hey Jenna,

I'm still waiting

And I'm still waiting

And I'm still waiting.

So, I think I'm going to sum up my thoughts on the #TrumpTapes in a quick thread. I'm not going to go into their legality, I think other people will cover that better than I can.

Thoughts on the Trump tapes

🧵THREAD🧵
I think this is a good thing, Trump is showing himself as he is.

It's painful to watch, it feels like our Democracy is on a knife's edge.

But our Constitution is strong, it's weathered tougher storms than Trump's tantrums.

There have been few greater threats to our Constitution than Donald Trump.

This is despicable. This is criminal. This is impeachable.

Figured I would do a thread on my top ten favorite reads of 2020!

It would be interesting to see who else has read these. So in no particular order: The Boys in the Boat
By Daniel James Brown

Really incredible story that takes you back to the pre war era of the 1930s
