The episode of this show filmed in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary has been bugging me. There's a critical #ClimateChange connection that was omitted or ignored. It felt like a missed opportunity to educate/inform how these special places are under threat... 🧵 1/8 Image In the episode, they show juvenile white sharks swimming close to shore & explain they are newcomers to the area. Adults are typically present, but not juveniles. They do a good job showing sharks near people w/o the fear-mongering (👍). Why are they here now though? 2/8 ImageImageImageImage

How about a 🧵of ocean memories for #OceanMonth? Here is the sunset off the coast of Monterrico, Guatemala. It was the first time I saw the Pacific Ocean irl and just before this we got to see a release of baby Olive Ridley sea turtles from a local rescue hatchery 1/30 ImageImageImage That time I took my friend Jess’ pup Zoe (RIP) for a morning walk on the Jersey shore and we combatted plastic pollution together while I sent work emails from my Blackberry (also RIP) #OceanMemories-4-#OceanMonth 2/30 Image

After 15 years fighting Parkinson’s disease my dad, John Connor, passed away on Monday. Here is a video from the last time I saw him, taking the last steps of his life. The last two years of his life was spent in an out of hospitals and rehab facilities, trying to recover from falls, and then battling all the medical complications that followed: multiple UTIs, C. diff, congestive heart failure and many more.
