Quite often, I receive questions like ‘is #Antarctica visible from the ISS?’ The answer is yes, it is!

The track of the ISS passes over all continents except Antarctica, but it is still visible!

📸 In the 1st photo, you can see the #AntarcticPeninsula, which is almost 1300 km 📸 The 2nd photo is the coast of #Pravda near the #DavisSea. This part of the mainland is more difficult to discern, as it is 1700 km away from the viewpoint in straight line, and white clouds easily merge with the snow and ice cover. The first Russian station called #Mirny.

Трасса МКС проходит над всеми материками, кроме континента #Антарктида. Но все же ее можно увидеть!

📸 На фото вы можете увидеть #АнтарктическийПолуостров длиной почти 1300 км 📸 Второе фото — это #БерегПравды у моря #Дейвиса. Эту часть материка разглядеть уже сложнее: расстояние по прямой почти 1700 км, а белые облака легко сливаются со снежно-ледовым покровом. Здесь работает самая первая российская станция #Мирный, основанная 13 февраля 1956 года.
