Please excuse me whilst I leave my Ivory Tower, to say a thing or two about the relationship btw the media & the populist radical right. (I did research - findings published in #IJPP: doi.org/10.1177/194016…). (1/n) Just like mainstream parties, media practitioners can choose btw variety of strategies when dealing with the far right:
1) demarcation
2) confrontation
3) accommodation.
These strategies are to be understood as “ideal types”.

👇 I interviewed 46 EICs in the Benelux & asked them how they deal with right-wing #populism. Turns out that there are huge differences:
In Wallonia & Luxembourg, journalists adhere to strict ostracism. In Flanders & Netherlands, they are more accommodating.
