1/. It’s a shame that @houseofcommons hasn’t been allowed a full debate on the full #CPTPP treaty.

After all it’s not without controversy. Yet last week I got a letter from the Leader of the House telling me a full debate was impossible as “it has not been possible to find time for a debate in Government time”

This is in clear breach of the Government’s undertaking in the “Grimstone Rule” that “The Government does not envisage a new FTA proceeding to ratification without a debate first having taken place on it, should one have been requested in a timely fashion by [a relevant Committee], subject to available Parliamentary time.”
