I feel a bit of a fraud watching #BREATHTAKING given I’m a GP not a hospital medic. But on watching the first 20 mins the feelings of anxiety I remember from back then are there. I remember standing in the surgery corridor telling a senior colleague this was going to be bad after A hospital medic friend warning me. I could tell they didn’t quite believe me. I remember the fear when patients still came in coughing in my face as usual & buying my own PPE on Amazon that I couldn’t breathe in. So after my recent tweet got some traction, here is what I have learnt about how public perception of GPs. A 🧵 GPs are apparently awful for not responding quickly enough to someone calling having a heart attack. (GPs are not an emergency service. If you think you are having a heart attack - please call 999 or go to A&E)
