Today, the Michigan House passed House Bill 4181 (my first bill to pass the House!) which would ban any driver under the age of 18 from using a cell phone while driving. Currently, the law only applies to individuals with learner’s permits or restricted licenses. #mileg 1/ Distracted driving is a serious threat to Michigan drivers. According to the Governor's Highway Safety Association. there are 20,000+ distracted driving accidents in Michigan each year. These numbers are rising each year as cellphone use behind the wheel becomes more common. 2/
