Overnight weather conditions aided firefighters in the battle for containment California saw more than 200 lightning strikes and fire agencies across the state established quick response teams to monitor any fires started by lightning to try to prevent further conflagrations.

The Red Flag Warning for the Bay Area was cancelled this morning. This is good news for firefighters battling the SCU Lightning Complex fire burning to the east and south of Milpitas!
