Netaji and the Burmese Connection

#NetajiWeek Image Burma will always hold a special place in the heart of all Netajians. Not only because it was the place from where INA launched their offensive to liberate India but also because it was the place where INA fought some of its most bitter battles and at the end had to

How the mere presence of Provisional Govt of Free India proved a decisive factor in Red Fort Trials and hence in Independence of India (A thread) :- Image We all know that the red fort trials or the INA trials played a unique role in Independence of India. The master plan behind the Greatest journey of Indian freedom struggle (A thread) Image It was not as if Netaji rose one day and decided that he would leave India in midnight. Before this could happen, there was a proper planning which started in June 1939, 2 months after his resignation from INC Presidentship. While Netaji made a German councel in 1938, but his

Was Azad Hind Govt a puppet state❓

This question is very complex to answer for even historians and those who admire Netaji. But still there is no harm in giving a try to something 🙂 Image ❓ What is a Puppet state
A puppet state is a state that is de jure independent but de facto completely dependent upon an outside power and subject to its orders. They have nominal sovereignty, but a foreign power effectively exercises control through means such as financial

What Col. Mahboob Ahmed said is a very complex thing and cannot be easily understood by a patriotic Indian. Col. Mahboob Ahmed and all other Muslims joined the INA on the pretext of saving Muslims. But as said by Shah Nawaz Khan, while in first INA, they all were trying to wreck INA from inside as they believed that INA was a Japanese puppet army, in second INA, they got a leader in Netaji who made them believe with each passing day that INA was not a showpiece and it really meant to free India with the least help of the Japs. Thus, loyalty of majority

#OTD in 1945, Netaji laid the foundation stone for the first memorial ever dedicated to the free Indian soldiers (India Gate is dedicated to British Indian soldiers). The task to construct it in less than 3 weeks was given to Cyril John Stracey (anglo-Indian). The monument was constructed to commemorate the "Unknown Warrior" of the Indian National Army (INA). The words inscribed on the war memorial were its motto, which is Unity (Ittehad), Faith (Ittemad) and Sacrifice (Qurbani). While paying homage to the martyrs of the INA, he said,

Enough has been said about the torture of allied and axis POWs and about the Indian soldiers by Japan in WW2 but has anyone considered thinking about the torture of INA soldiers which was endured on them by Anglo-Americans during and after WW2? There is very little information about the war crimes which were inflicted on INA men and none of the Britishers or Indians were prosecuted for this while a fake trial for torture of BIA men was run on INA. This thread reveals some of the incidents of torture inflicted on INA men

Today is 14th April, i.e., Moirang day. Probably this was the happiest day of Netaji's life as on this day in 1944, for the first time, tricolour was unfurled in Indian mainland. Whenever I think of this day, one thought always comes in my mind— What if Netaji had arrived in 1942 What if Japan had cooperated as efficiently as they claimed

What if General Mutagachi leaving his overconfidence, had ordered to attack the Dimapur Rail Road which was claimed as a strategic point by General Slim

What if 2 INA soldiers had not deserted & revealed IJA and INA's
