As a lifelong #SFGiants fan who’s long battled addiction/depression, 2010 helped me grow so much as a person. Your own story was vital in this growth, knowing we had a hero who battled similar demons. You were vulnerable. Relatable. Funny. Kind. And loving.
That love was mutual. We were grateful for you, and so happy you’d found new hope in life. You were special. It pains me to see you be so mean & hateful nowadays. Countless athletes have been hateful people, of course. But so few have positively impacted my life the way you did.

Yo! Thanks for all the continuous love. Picked up a few new followers over the weekend, and with all the kind messages I received from folks I’d never met, I thought it‘d be polite to briefly introduce myself in a short thread, and tell you a little about my professional work. 🎙
While I will never “STICK TO SPORTS,” I do make a living as a writer and sportscaster. “Have mic, have pen, will travel,” has become a life motto. A main reason I moved to San Diego in 2016 was access to Tijuana, home to @xolos_en of #LigaMXeng. I then found love at first sight.

A quick thread to y’all:
First off, THANK YOU for the support re: Friday’s incident at the border with CBP. I’ve never felt a stronger backing, which is nice, as I’ve also never been inundated with tweets calling me a “snowflake,” “wimpy bitch” or “lying fame-hunter” until now.
It’s oh so important to remind ourselves why I shared this all too common story in the first place: TO HELP PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENINGN TO OTHERS! Especially those with less means of defending themselves. Steps are being taken, and I will update y’all as the situation progresses.

I got ambushed and interrogated by CBP today, on my way IN TO Mexico. 5 officers (waiting on the walkway just before entrance into MX) stopped me and ordered me to step in a little side cage area. I asked why I was being stopped. I was told to be quiet and turn around. (Thread)
I was then ordered to put my hands down on a metal table. As my pockets were emptied by 2 officers, I again asked why I was being stopped. “What’s the probable cause here?” “We don’t need probable cause, sir,” another officer responded. “We can stop and search whoever we want.”

I’ve got ample love and respect for @Dame_Lillard. We both grew up loving the same team, our lowly @warriors. As Golden State now prepares for a 5th straight NBA Finals, I wrote this. For Dame. For my dad. For the die-hards of #DubNationlink.medium.com/Z2MFV5g8VW
Shouts to @JanieMcCAP! 🥂
