What the hell is going on? 🧵🧵🧵
I am witnessing something on the right which I am used to seeing...on the left. Namely the speed with which people are getting cancelled or "excommunicated" over disagreements that should not rise to the level of the hostility displayed..
There is no question that there are some issues that are deal breakers. You're a socialist? You want to ban guns? Trans the kids? Raise Taxes? Allow Mass Illegal Immigration? to name a few...we are on different sides. We have diametrically opposed worldviews...

Has Trump started WWIII? 🧵🧵🧵
Well lets ask the question..."How would striking Iran's Nuclear facilities lead to a WWIII type event?"
Note: This is obviously not a comprehensive analysis, but a quick overview of some of the important factors to take into consideration.
What Israel's strike on Iran has demonstrated is that Iran does not possess a military capable of taking on a major western power. Their primary strength lies in being able to fight through proxies, terrorism and other asymmetric measures, which means other major powers would have to get involved on Iran's behalf to make this a "world war" type scenario...so are they likely to?

Thread incoming...🧵🧵🧵
Among my many issues with US foreign policy over the last several decades, is that it has created an environment where people get improperly categorized into either a "war mongering necon" or an "isolationist pacifist."
Any nuance makes you a traitor to one side or the other. Making it impossible to even ask questions without the discussion degrading into accusations of being a war criminal or a patsy for America's enemies.

My background was in unconventional warfare and counterinsurgency, and I can tell you that everyone who thinks Russia has this thing in the bag is wrong.
Here’s a 🧵:
A lot of people are pointing to the fact that the Russian "blitzkrieg" is now covering large swaths of open terrain in the northern and southern part of Ukraine. But capturing patches of rural countryside is not the same thing as conquering a country…

Afghanistan Lesson 1: An orderly military withdrawal can turn into an unorganized retreat very quickly when you have diminished your military options without achieving certain key benchmarks.

Want to know what’s in the $3 trillion, 1,800-page spending package that Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats are pushing today? Here are 5 of the most egregious provisions in today’s stimulus bill, dubbed the #HeroesAct
First up: incredibly wasteful spending on liberal pet projects. This includes $50 million to the EPA for a study on pollution and COVID-19, $10 million more for the National Endowment of the Arts, and $10 million for the National Endowment for the Humanities… #HeroesAct

Some things we as legislators need to remember this session...and every other session.
1. Just because something is a “good idea” doesn’t mean it’s a good idea for the government to run, manage or subsidize...
2. Every new restriction, regulation, tax, fine, fee, etc. comes with the threat of force. So ask yourself if what you’re trying to do is worth someone getting hurt over it.
