TACKLING PROSTATE CANCER SHOULD BE THE COUNTRY’S FOCUS, @HealthOgun Commissioner

The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker has called on government at all levels to vigorously fight prostate cancer, which has claimed lives of numerous men in the country.
Coker, who stated this when she joined the Deputy Governor, @NoimotOyedele at the ground-breaking ceremony of Rotary Prostate Cancer Center in Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State, said approximately one in every 500 men come down with prostate cancer
She described the disease as a menace which is the most common in Nigerian men, saying late detection and treatment are responsible for the fatalities from the scourge.

Admission into Ogun Schools of Nursing, Midwifery based on Merit - Coker

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker made this disclosure in Abeokuta when she joined in the supervision of the entrance examination for 1650 candidates jostling for the available 240 slots in the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery across the State.
Coker stated that the present administration in Ogun State, which is known for celebrating excellence, will not lower the standard of admission into its academic institutions, describing nursing and midwifery as important professions.

Ogun Schools of Nursing and Midwifery entrance Exam holds Friday
The Ogun State Government says the entrance examination into all State-Owned Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, which was postponed last month, will now hold on Friday, 6th November 2020.

Abiodun congratulates Muslims on Eid-el Maolud

Ogun State Governor, @dabiodunMFR, has congratulated Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, on this year’s Eid-el Maolud commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Ogun pledges support for alternate medicine

The Ogun State Government has promised to give the needed support in training and licencing to practitioners of alternate medicine in order to bring a drastic improvement into the practice.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, when she hosted the newly inaugurated Alternate Medicine Board led by its pioneer Chairman, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye, in her office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
