🚨 New polling with @ObserverUK
Keir Starmer has seen an 8 point drop in his net approval rating after a significant uptick in the number disapproving of his performance.
22% approve of his performance vs. 54% who disapprove. This gives Starmer a net rating of -32%.
Kemi Badenoch, along with other party leaders, remain relatively steady vs. our last poll.
She is on a net approval of -6%.

Scottish IndyRef: 10 Years On
Opinium’s latest polling, exclusively for @thetimes , shows the ‘No’ lead has narrowed significantly since 2014, with 63% of under-35s now prepared to vote for independence.

If there were a second referendum tomorrow on Scottish independence, 47% of Scots would vote “no” and 45% would vote “yes.” Almost one in ten (8%) are undecided.
With the Conservative Party Conference starting today, our latest poll shows Labour's lead has shot up from 5 points to 19 over the Conservatives.

Green 6% (-1)
Liz Truss's ratings have gone from mediocre (net -9 approval ratings) to very bad (net -37).
This is worse than Boris Johnson’s last numbers on 22nd June (net -28), but slightly better than his worst score of net -42 on 12th Jan when the worst of the Partygate story broke out.

Sunak came top when it comes to who performed best overall, on 24%.
He was followed by Tugendhat on 19%, Mordaunt on 17%, Truss on 15%, and Badenoch on 12%.

Mordaunt 12%
Badenoch 12%

It's very hard to tell how candidates are going to go down with the public until they have had an opportunity to see them.
And this is the first time voters have been able to see them all on an equal footing. And the first time we have captured how voters have responded.

The results of the latest Conservative members poll from @OpiniumResearch and @Channel4News shows the race for a new leader wide open.
Currently Rishi Sunak (28%), Liz Truss (20%) & Penny Mordaunt (14%) are most popular options members want to see on the ballot.
The most important qualities in a Conservative leader, according to the party's membership, is that they are strong (51%), competent (37%) and able to win elections (28%). A further 27% want their leader to be honest.

Boris Johnson’s approval rating has nose-dived over the past week, with more people now disapproving of the job he is doing than at any other point in his leadership.

Disapprove 59% (+11)
This gives him a net score of -35, down from -17 a fortnight ago.

35% of those who voted Tory at the last election now think the PM should go.
Despite denials from Downing Street, fewer than one in 10 (9%) believe that a party didn’t take place. 64% think one did, including 55% of Conservative voters and 83% of Labour voters.

#Budget2021 polling: 37% approve of the way the government is handling the economy, down from 41% in March. But this is still higher than the 34% who disapprove (down from 35% in March). #Budget2021 polling: @BorisJohnson and @RishiSunak hold a 15 point lead (40% to 25%) over @Keir_Starmer and @RachelReevesMP on who is best at managing the economy. This is almost unchanged on their 39% to 25% lead in March.
