There aren't actually *too* many restrictions on getting books into the SCIs. Allegheny County Jail on the other hand has a TERRIBLE book policy and no library. An admin that doesn't care about keeping people alive can't be expected to care about reading. #bannedbooksweek
🧵/4 The worst part of the policy is that IT'S NOT TRANSPARENT! Even if families order books through barne&nobles they are regularly rejected and people don't why. Often not even notified. They get sent back to the seller and people don't always get their money back. 2/4
