🧵We have been contacted by someone whose work involves going into schools in England. This person has given us their permission to share their recent experience of gender identity ideology being played out in the the school environment. Two examples from different schools:
1/5
1. A female primary school teacher, using the term ‘cis woman’ to describe herself, was absolutely convinced that children could be born in the ‘wrong body’. She was also adamant that reports of male rapists being put in female prisons because of gender ideology, were lies

10 days remain for parents and others to input into the Curriculum and Assessment Review: Call for Evidence - see pinned post.

Existing statutory RSE curriculum guidance makes some important points that should be retained in future curriculum guidance (not just in RSHE)...
1/7
"You should not reinforce harmful stereotypes, for instance by suggesting that children might be a different gender based on their personality and interests or the clothes they prefer to wear."

Following the announcement of the general election, it is still important that parents and other stakeholders complete the consultation on the new #RSHE statutory guidance.
1/nconsult.education.gov.uk/rshe-team/revi… We are pleased to see that many of our concerns raised during the review process have been recognised:

1. We asked that RSE be restrictive, and that ‘gender identity’ - an unevidenced and unfalsifiable concept - be removed from a factual and evidence based curriculum.

1/6 We have recently spoken to a parent who has spent time drafting a lengthy formal complaint to her child's secondary school about its uncritical promotion of gender identity ideology. 2/6 Amongst other things, the school encouraged KS3 pupils to formulate arguments for why trans people should be able to compete in the sport that matches their 'gender'. The opposing view was not presented.

As the Charity Commission investigates Mermaids for its approach to safeguarding, now is the time for schools to review their #PSHE and #RSE resources to ensure they are not promoting gender identity ideology.

We are Parents For Education- a group providing peer support to parents/carers concerned with gender identity ideology in education. We tackle inappropriate RSE teaching, and help parents hold schools to account to ensure UK Government policies are implemented correctly. Have you seen materials from your child’s school that you are concerned about? The presence of gender ideology in schools is not an accident. External resource providers are “queering” RSE provision using ideas which blur and break down children’s boundaries.
