It's unfortunate that many believers have turned God to a vengeance police. So we claim to forgive but deep in our hearts we are only letting go because we believe that somehow, God will get even on behalf. Unfortunately this doesn't happen in most cases and this is why... 1 God loves you & the offender too. His will for both of you is to get your hearts perfected in love. So for you the offended, bitterness must not gain root in your heart & the offended must learn to walk in love so not to be the cause of offense too... 2

A few days ago my wife reminded me of some of the things I did while we were dating that convinced her to stay with me.

Whenever she visited me and maybe one of my younger brother's (we are all boys in my family) was doing the chores at home..
1/9 she would try to collect the chore from them but I would refuse, saying to her 'it is his duty, let him do it. Besides, he is younger than you, I don't want any form of disrespect to come to you'. (In her own words).

I know a lot of marriages & relationships that would do better if the man in the relationship learns SUBMISSION. Yes! Submission to his wife and ultimately to God. Let me put this in proper context:

1/8 Alot of people especially here in Africa can attest to moments or decisions in their homes that cost the family so much. Problems that would been avoided if daddy listened to mummy but daddy failed to because daddy 'is the man of the house' and wanted to exact that power.

About 4 Years ago, my wife & I woke up one day not knowing we were about to have the 1st major quarrel in our lives as a couple cause of scissors. Our son was still an infant so we couldn't take him to the barbers so my wife got his hair trimmed from time to time.

1/8 On this particular day, she wanted to get his hair trimmed as usual, so we both sat on the front porch of our house in Abuja. As a kind & loving husband, I offered to do the trimming this time, especially because I noticed certain areas she couldn't reach, long story short..

As a single man, I was always scared if getting married. My fears then are as valid as what many fear today; what if my wife is malicious? What if my wife is a cheat? What if we don't get and stay in love? What if I fail as a husband? What if sex is bad and I can't cheat? What if I can't stay faithful to one? What if I get deceived and marry the wrong woman? what if, what if! I had so many reasons to be very scared of the institution.
My first deliverance was the day the Lord delivered me by asking me this question: What if it works?

My wife is DROP DEAD, GET UP BACK TO LIFE GORGEOUS!
But as attractive as she is and has always been, it was the least of the reasons I got married to her.
By the time I met my wife, I had come to understand a few very important things that make for a Happy home.

I knew I needed PEACE. The world out there is full of trouble, but inside my home had to safe for us. I knew to enjoy a happy marriage we needed to be on the same page about forgiveness and living in peace...
