We have a brand new website, realprogressives.org. It's organized in a way that makes it perfect to #LearnMMT and about progressive issues in general. On the main page, you see an article from @ALT_JD explaining the transition from the progressive New Deal to the current failed, neoliberal state of the economy in America.

For the last half century the ??? "how ya gonna pay for it?" Has haunted the progressive movement as most tried to operate under neoclassical/neoliberal constructs fabricated & lored into reality. Pay attention to those advancing Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) as they alone get it. Invariably the naysayers and conspiracy peddlers saunter through but never bother to challenge their populist mysticism and therefore over elevate the importance of the wrong entities whilst ignoring the rep problem: Congress, who has been impotent and allowed to stay ineffective

While we watch supposed Progressives lift up neoliberals as "acceptable" or "still progressive", we are left to wonder how many do not understand what a neoliberal even is. People like @EmmaVigeland have been steady calling people "sexist" for not supporting neoliberals. Why? This is why we as a nation cannot make progress. It is called ignorance and gaslighting.

There is absolutely no excuse for either at this late hour.

People will not fight for what they do not believe is possible.

People self select themselves out of the picture and create self fulfilling prophecies and allow defeat to overwhelm them to the point of inertia.

The Green New Deal requires people to understand we can not only afford BUT DO great things and that requires the answer to the "how will you pay for this" part.

The Fed #JobGuarantee as a counter-cyclical, automatic stabilizer, a govt purchase of commodity based slack labor to create a bufferstock of employed resources, vs unemployed resources & the nominal price anchor it presents are key to the reason it is far superior to the #UBI The UBI neither countercyclical, nor does it present a nominal price anchor. It has no price anchor and it serves the capital class to fatten their wallets whilst providing ZERO services for the people receiving it.

There's a big difference in philosophy between progressives and 'liberals'. Liberals prefer to 'resist'. That only means fighting against something 'aka' push back. As progressives, we prefer to #Insist. That means we are actually fighting for something Because of that, liberals are always short on policy. They care more about fighting the policies of others, usually half witted. Progressives want actual change: a true move of the Overton Window back to the left. Policies that #insist we have a better world.
