When the Senate votes on final passage next week, I will vote no on KOSA. Here's why: After months of negotiations and thanks to hard work by Commerce Chair Cantwell and Leader Schumer, the final version of this bill is improved..

The House Intelligence Committee wants to make it easier for the federal government to spy on you without a warrant. Here's how: FISA 702 currently allows the government to collect the communications of foreigners. If an Americans' communications get scooped up in the process, the government is able write this off as "incidental."

This is big: For two years, my staff on @SenateFinance have been investigating Credit Suisse's role in tax evasion schemes by ultra-wealthy U.S citizens.

Here's what they found. cnb.cx/3ntk42h In 2014, Credit Suisse entered into a plea agreement with DOJ over its role in helping wealthy Americans evade taxes. Our investigation found that since then, Credit Suisse helped conceal an offshore account worth $100 million & 23 more accounts each worth at LEAST $20 million.

Today's riots by insurrectionists in the nation's Capitol caps off four years of Donald Trump fanning the flames of fanaticism. Every Republican lawmaker who supported his efforts to overturn a legitimate election shares responsibility for today's violence. All Americans must be able to elect House and Senate members safe in the knowledge that their views will be represented in civil debate here in Congress without mob rule ever squelching that discussion.

Whoever wins the next presidential election will be in charge during the biggest crisis Medicare has ever faced. I was just on the Senate floor sounding the alarm on our nation’s looming Medicare crisis. Donald Trump’s ongoing economic crisis has been devastating for Medicare. According to nonpartisan experts, Medicare will be insolvent in just four years, jeopardizing the basic services that millions of seniors rely on every day.

I was just on the Senate floor with @SenSchumer to introduce our resolution that would put an end to Russian propaganda laundering by Senate Republicans. The foreign threats to our democracy are an established matter of fact. Ignoring or overlooking those threats when it’s politically convenient would be harmful enough. Wielding that disinformation as a political weapon is something far worse.

The boycott of Facebook by private companies is just one more example of Americans demanding more from social media platforms when it comes to policing online hate speech. Now Reddit has joined the growing number of social media companies finally taking a real stand against misinformation and hate speech on their platforms.

I have warned for years that the Trump administration was threatening Section 230 in order to chill speech and bully companies like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter into giving Donald Trump favorable treatment. Today Trump proved me right. I expect those companies, and every American who participates in online speech, to resist this illegal act by all possible means. Giving in to bullying by this president may be the single most unpatriotic act an American could undertake.

John Ratcliffe, Donald Trump's nominee to serve as Director of National Intelligence came to the Senate Intelligence Committee to answer questions today. It didn't go so well. I pressed Ratcliffe on whether the President can go around the FISA statute to conduct warrantless wiretapping, as AG Barr has said. He avoided the question. Trump, Barr and Ratcliffe are setting the stage for more unchecked spying on American citizens.

Mitch McConnell’s opposition to any and all proposals that would expand access to voting for Americans isn’t new. It goes back decades. Here’s a thread on his long history of voting against voting: In 1993 Mitch McConnell voted against Motor Voter, a law that requires states to establish voter registration procedures. To sum up: this law helped states create a centralized voter database to streamline elections and make voting easier.

New estimates today show that unemployed Oregonians will get an estimated $3.3 billion in much-needed help this year as part of the historic unemployment insurance expansion I worked to get into the #COVID19 package: wyden.senate.gov/news/press-rel… That’s crucial aid for Oregon workers throughout this year to help pay the rent, buy groceries and cover medical expenses. And it will help to keep our economy functioning while Oregonians focus on staying safe with social distancing and more.

Thanks to Democratic leadership and hours of negotiation, we were able to get this deal done the right way to help Americans in need. This legislation will get real dollars to workers and small businesses who are struggling to stay afloat. Here's a quick look at some of the provisions included in this deal that I've been fighting for:

✅A historic expansion of unemployment benefits
✅A tax credit for businesses to keep workers on payroll
✅Critical funding for state and local health care systems
