THE PRESIDENT MUST INTERVENE, DECISIVELY, ON THE CRISIS OF DISTRIBUTION OF PETROL AND CURRENCY NOTES

The people of this country have been compelled to live under excruciating pains occasioned, mainly, by the contrived crisis in the petroleum sector. Nigerians have been at the mercy of the unscrupulous elements in the distribution chain who have sustained the artificial scarcity of the product since late last year.

We Believe In One Nigeria, But We Cannot Have One Country, Two Systems

The video making the rounds showing the equivalent of the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun Corps) in Katsina, obtaining the approval of the Federal Govt. to bear arms is fraught with great dangers. Denying Amotekun the urgently needed rights, to legitimately bear arms is a repudiation of the basis of true federalism which we have been clamoring for.

My attention has just been drawn to the expensive joke purportedly enacted by the National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu. The speculation is rife that the Chairman took a flight of fancy and decided to make a pronouncement beyond his competence. He has, allegedly, made public his preferred choice as the candidate of the APC for the Office of the President in the next general elections.

This alleged pronouncement runs contrary to the position of majority of Northern Governors in APC and their counterparts in the South.

I was at the scene of the terror attack on innocent worshipers at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, today. I also visited the hospitals where survivors of the attack are receiving medical attention.

The attack was the most dastardly act that could happen in any society. What happened today is tragic. No better way to qualify it. It is the most tragic event! Horrific! What we have seen in America is a child play to what has happened here. That it happened in a church, to say the least, is most condemnable. I feel terribly sad.

I am deeply saddened by the unprovoked attack and killing of innocent people of Owo, worshiping at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Today.

The vile & satanic attack is a calculated assault on the peace-loving people of Owo Kingdom who have enjoyed relative peace over the years. It is a black Sunday in Owo. Our hearts are heavy. Our peace and tranquility have been attacked by the enemies of the people. This is a personal loss, an attack on our dear state.

Shasha violence in Ibadan: Don't Take Laws Unto Your Hands, These Times Shall Pass

We note with deep concern, the most unfortunate & avoidable orgy of violence in Shasha, Ibadan, Oyo State. As Governor of Ondo State who doubles as Chairman, South West Governor's Forum... ...it has become very compelling for me to address ALL RESIDENTS, in particular, the Yoruba speaking people of our Region as regards recent happenings bordering on security. We have been known for thoroughness. We have identified with legality over the centuries;

Today we have taken major steps at addressing the root cause of kidnapping, in particular, and other nefarious activities detailed and documented in security reports, the press and debriefings from victims of kidnap cases in Ondo State. These unfortunate incidents are traceable to the activities of some bad elements masquerading as herdsmen. These felons have turned our forest reserves into hideouts for keeping victims of kidnapping, negotiating for ransom and carrying out other criminal activities.

ABBA KYARI: MAN OF POTENTIALS, DIED WORKING FOR NIGERIA

The frailty of life carries with it the deeper deception of an innocuous state, creating paths peculiar to individuals in life. Along such paths are attractions out of which we make our choices. For Mallam Abba Kyari, a quintessential Public Servant whose trajectory of life moulded him for inexorable service to his fatherland, his choice of life was that of a pool of unhyped potentials.

Today, we took more sterner measures to ensure compliance to the regulations we passed in order to control the spread of #COVID19 in Ondo State.

Henceforth we will be imposing a curfew from 7pm to 7am everyday with effect from today 14th April, 2020 until further notice We will arrest and detain individuals found to have breached government’s directives on restriction of movement of persons and goods, operation of business premises and community markets, religious gatherings and public bars and other social activities within the state.

I have been briefed by the security chiefs that in the early hours of Saturday March 28th, a vehicle in a convoy transporting explosives to a storage facility in a neighbouring state developed a fault while in transit along the Akure Owo Road about 2km from the Akure Airport. Security personnel and other individuals transporting the ordinances noticed smoke from the vehicle. After several attempts to extinguish the resulting fire failed, the vehicle and its consignment ignited causing a massive explosion that was felt in Akure and its environs.

My good people of ondo state, it is now three years since this administration was inaugurated into office to steer the ship of government in our state. We have every reason to thank god almighty for his infinite grace and mercies over all of us. #AskAketi The vision and strength of mind to accomplish set objectives have been our driving force through the undulating curves of the last three years.
