Had a really bizarre Twitter discussion yesterday with a leader in Utah’s tech community.

His contention was that Saturday’s assassination attempt was the obvious and inevitable result of irresponsible political rhetoric over the years from Biden and other Democrats... (1/18) First, it’s worth pointing out that there is zero evidence for this belief. In fact, that the shooter was a registered Republican with a history of conservative positions suggests something very different may be at play. The reality is, we just don’t know at this point. So, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that we made some mistakes in our attempt to leverage technology to augment contact tracing here in Utah. But include that fact that the state was acting quickly during a once-in-a-century PANDEMIC and yeah, it’s totally understandable. 2/
