100%. the problem has never been "CGI bad" it's always been that "good CGI is made with artistic intent, with teams who have time. bad CGI is made because the director didn't figure out the visuals and is kicking that can down the road, and/or from teams forced into crunch." the over-reliance on CGI is not a problem caused BY VFX HOUSES, it's caused by filmmakers and studios who don't want to think about what something's gonna look like, so they make every possible element a digital variable subject to change. that's not a recipe for good effects!!
