...I grew up mostly poor (hand to mouth, actualfax gov't cheese, tons of debt), with guns in the house (some inherited, many as saved-for holiday gifts), and my parents (esp. my father) were die-hard conservatives. My dad would always say "come the revolution..." ominously about too-liberal public figures. The unspoken message was that conservatives were gonna rise up and 'take back's the country.

The first(?) arc in my #EclipsePhase #TTRPG campaign has reached it's climax.

After receiving a mission to investigate a shady medical technology company, the Firewall team (the PCs) backed up their egos, just in case... and promptly woke up as their backup selves. So the mystery of what was happening on the base became suddenly PERSONAL, as they wound up investigating their own disappearances!

Turns out, the MedTechCo was trying to isolate & duplicate some of the mechanics of the Exsurgent virus for military use, & the virus got loose...

LRT: I LOVE elegantly simple games, esp w/pretty, mechanically significant art & visual design. Stellium, Space Park, Mystic Market, Dreamwell, Sagrada... Give me those over heavy, five hour cube-mover* games, any day of the week! I still get to call myself a board gamer! * I call some games 'cube-movers' bc that seems to be the primary mechanic: move a cube along a track, move cubes from one card to another... Occasionally you MIGHT get a person figure! And I'm like *yawn.* Put some pizazz into it! I demand shiny gemstones & lavish illustrations!
