Tonight, on Christmas Eve, Gov Abbott’s buses dropped off migrants at the VP’s house in the freezing cold. This is not new, it has been happening for 8 months. The Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network has welcomed >200 buses carrying ~7k ppl. @HdcPeace @DC_BCI @EORMutualAid 🧵 While Abbott is a demon for sure, these folks have also been let down by the federal & local DC govt:

1) Busing folks from the border to other cities isn’t actually a bad thing if done right & for the right reasons! The federal govt needs to step up and formalize the process. 2/

The first of 3 buses expected tonight has arrived. And like the last three months mutual aid is here to greet them. DC government is nowhere in sight.
