Today, I finished my last inpatient shift of internal medicine residency.

Here is a short thread of some of the most important lessons I have learned over the last few years:

#MedTwitter Be kind to others and to yourself. Kindness is a choice and a conscious effort. At the end of a long day, in the midst of high acuity, or when we are overwhelmed, it is EASY to be mean or dismissive (and to beat ourselves up too).

Instead, take a breath and demonstrate grace.
