#OnThisDay in 2010 Parliament passed the 18th amendment, a landmark event in the history of Pakistan. Provinces got autonomy & most importantly NWFP’s name was changed to Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. It has emended 102 Articles & restored the Constitution to its original shape.

#OnThisDay (31st May) in 1930 at #Peshawar a peaceful funeral procession of the 2 children shot dead by an English soldier was not allowed to proceed to the cremation ground. (1/3) Despite requests from Hakim Abdul Jalil Nadvi (father of Haji Adeel & other noted citizens of Peshawar then accompanying the procession, they were not permitted to proceed towards GorKhatri. 1930مئی خیبر پختونخوا میں خدائی خدمتگار تحریک پورے عروج پر تھی۔ خان عبدالغفار خان جوباچا خان بابا کے نام سے مشہور تھے اس تحریک کے بانی تھے۔باچا خان انگریزوں کے خلاف جدّوجہد کر رہے تھے۔ ٹکّر جو ضلع مردان کا ایک تاریخی گاوں ہے بھی اس تحریک کا مرکز تھا۔

باچا خان بابا نے اس دوران انگریزوں پر دباوٴ ڈالنے کے لئے خدائی خدمتگار گرفتاریاں دینے کا حکم دیا تھا۔ اس سلسلے ٹکّر کے چند خدائی خدمتگاروں نے بھی گرفتاریاں دینی تھی جن میں ملک معصم خان ۔ملک خان بادشاہ۔ سالار شمروز خان شامل تھے۔

#OnThisDay in 1930, Imperialists opened fire on a nonviolent protest in Takkar village of Mardan.

The #TakkarMassacre happened at when local villagers attempted to stop soldiers from arresting activists of the Khudai Khidmatgars.

This Monument is build for remembrance there (1) In the ensuing shooting an English police officer called Murphy was killed. Three days later, a large troop force attacked the village in retaliation.

According to a book titled, ‘Da Khpal Waakaye Tarun’, published in Afghanistan, 70 people were martyred and 150 wounded. (2/4)
