On eve of 8th March, I am feeling incredible sadness & exhaustion. While the global solidarity for gender equality is a source of inspiration, I feel exhausted by the ongoing weight of patriarchy in all our countries & cultures. It is exhausting to be a woman in this world. It is incredibly draining to be a woman from the global south & a woman from Afghanistan. My sisters in Afghan women’s movement have spent their lives fighting on multiple fronts, sometimes starting with misogyny in our own homes. #Afghanistan

War & mental health, a thread We often don't think/talk about the mental health implications of d current conflict. Life must go on. Majority of Afghans don't have the option to pause & grief. For those of us who can afford 2 take a step back & grieve, escape has become a coping mechanism.
