Here’s what the Liberals actually did: unilaterally vetoed an approved (and challenged but resolvable with extra two-way Indigenous consultation) dedicated export pipeline to Asia (Northern Gateway), topped off with an export ban to Asia from the safest, deepest and most direct port (C-48), meddled politically and in the regulatory process to deliberately kill a west-to-east pipeline to secure Canadian energy independence with western resources for eastern refineries and to establish export access to Europe (Energy East), combined with constant uncertainty, unilateral drilling and development bans, red tape, and a regulatory system designed to get to "NO", while turning away important security allies on LNG over and over, exactly at the same the US (starting with Obama) aggressively ramped up American oil and gas production and exports.
