It was getting to the desperation phase of the search for a missing hiker. So much so that his friends feared they’d find a body, not him.

Then came a tip from a bartender.

Her name? Destiny.

Incredible tale from @mgafni:

The unbelievable discovery our Jack Epstein made when his wife told him it was time to purge the contents of their attic:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is on the House floor describing how she went down the QAnon rabbit hole after getting sucked in through the internet:
“The problem about that is I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true … and that is absolutely what I regret.” She’s unequivocally saying that school shootings and 9/11 were real. Segues into saying that kids should be protected at school and then pivots to:

“Cancel culture is a real thing, it is very real.”

There are other examples, but I think the Dream Act is the perfect encapsulation of what Democrats face in very narrowly controlling Washington, and why expectations should be tempered if that’s what comes to pass:
1/7
A clean Dream Act (including TPS) might be able to get 60 votes in the Senate, and certainly would pass the House. It's something Democrats and a non-zero number of Republicans have wanted for a long time. 2/7

Fascinating, the DOJ inspector general has released the results of a survey of special agents and other federal investigators about how COVID has impacted their work. Lots of interesting stuff:

experience.arcgis.com/experience/891… “Only 60 percent of respondents on this subject agreed that individuals exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, when taken into custody, would be tested."

Georgia secretary of state says some counties have forgotten to click the “upload” button, so they’ve sent a reminder out “Fast is great and we appreciate fast. We more appreciate accuracy,” he says.
Just over 60,000 votes remaining to be counted, could go into the evening, he says

The meat of this story is actually really smart -- but there is something so jarring about the headline's notion that any woman running for office, especially one of color, could be "quiet" about her identity when campaigning. 1/5

washingtonpost.com/politics/kamal… True, Harris did not literally say "elect me because I'm a woman of color." But she never had to -- her identity was always one of the first questions she got asked regardless. And she couldn't conceal who she is if she wanted to, that's a fact of being a woman of color. 2/5

Pelosi addresses Monday's salon incident:
“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to...many times…It was a set up, and I take responsibility for falling for a setup.”
“I think that this salon owes me an apology, for setting me up” She says she’s been “inundated" with people in the hair service industry telling her, “Thank you for calling attention to this, we need to get back to work. … Many of them annoyed at the setup, that was there, for a purpose that has nothing to do with ending the crisis.”

Someone rushed the stage at #BigIdeas and taken the mic from @KamalaHarris’ hand — he is quickly apprehended and ushered offstage before much of anything.
Harris reenters to chants of “Kamala! Kamala!" @KamalaHarris Harris won’t make the Obama mistake — asked about Medicare for all, she says the fear is losing your doctor.
“You shouldn’t assume that that’s going to happen, because it’s *very likely* you will keep your doctor,” she says. “Ain’t nobody trying to fight for their insurance co."

I’m at the MoveOn #BigIdeas forum in San Francisco outside of #CADem19 — should be an intriguing format. Candidates get 5 minutes to present their “big idea,” and then will have moderated questions. Stay tuned for who shines and who … does otherwise. First up: Bernie Sanders. Warm welcome from crowd.

One hour into this family separation hearing, questions are now beginning. Border Patrol chief testifies the agency was “prepared” to implement a “prosecution initiative.”
She says there was no “searchable" information field that would have indicated separated families.

Potentially big: Judge Sabraw sounds inclined to agree with ACLU that *all* separated families must be identified, even those separated before his court ruling. Said it seemed “arbitrary” to exclude those released before June. Potentially thousands would have to be identified 1/ He is taking the request for consideration, saying he’ll issue an order on the request "as quickly as i can,” understanding "the enormity” of it. 2/
