Was just having some thoughts and was thinking about Ace and the more I think, the more I realise how insanely written he is and how well he ties into the narrative. This could be a thread but I just wanna ramble my thoughts for the most part #ONEPIECE
I think a lot of stock is put into Shanks being the one who inspires luffy to become a pirate, and this much is true. But you could argue that Ace was just as influential. Luffy through shanks sees piracy as a way to expand the boundaries of his freedom.
