@monsterhunter45 Worth noting, I enlisted around the same time he started writing the book he's on now. A decade later, I'm medically retired, and he's still working on the same book.
He's taking longer to write this than the length of my entire military career.
@monsterhunter45 George R.R. Martin started writing the first book in the series, Game of Thrones, in late 1991, per the Wikipedia page for the series.
You know what else happened in late 1991?
I WAS BORN. THE SERIES IS LITERALLY AS OLD AS I AM.

That sounds like an accomplishment to me.
