It's time to talk about @RobertKennedyJr. Because despite his royal Democratic lineage, he is a right-wing, MAGA-aligned crank. It is vital that voters considering Kennedy know this about him.

Here's a thread with just SOME of the evidence. There's more. A lot more. 🧵 Image Let's start with the latest: RFK, Jr. will appear on the CA ballot under the banner of the far-right American Independent Party, which nominated George Wallace, in 1968. Wallace was running as an overt racist. ("Segregation Now, Segregation Forever!") 2/ Image

We know @NoLabelsOrg is actively promoting a plan to force a contingent election and throw the choice of the next president to the US House. The NYT reports they were pushing it on a recent private zoom with their "delegates"… 🧵
nytimes.com/2024/03/21/us/… …and Joe Lieberman talked about in on TV yesterday. He said they think they are in range “to throw this to the House, and that would influence who ends up as our next president.”

Let me be clear: THEY VIEW THIS AS THEIR GOAL. 2/

So, finally, the truth. @NoLabelsOrg has lied about their intentions (more on that below). But now they admit it - they want to force a contingent election. That's the worst way of electing Trump imaginable. Please read this @NBCNews story and this short🧵 We outed this insane plan months ago. They think they can play kingmaker if they win a state or two. They'd use their electors as bargaining chips. (Now it's gotten even crazier, with talk of a "coalition government.")

Lots of new @NoLabelsOrg Party stuff out today. A new memo, a @mmckinnon piece in Vanity Fair, and a spot on @Morning_Joe. As usual with these guys, there's plenty of hat, but no cattle in sight. 🧵 Image In the memo, NL claims “the biggest risk factor for another Trump presidency may be Joe Biden’s candidacy.” But NL’s OWN polling proves, yet again, our point: Biden's on track to take enough swing states to win a 2-way race. Trump wins only when a NL candidate enters the race. 2/ Image

Well this is clarifying! We’ve long said the @nolabelsorg Party is an effort by and for Republicans. Now, it’s clear they’re intending to put one at the top of their ticket. A short thread. nytimes.com/2023/10/08/us/… Per the NYT: “The group’s CEO, Nancy Jacobson, has told potential donors and allies that the No Labels candidate will be a moderate Republican, according to three people familiar with the conversations." 2/

.@NoLabelsOrg says they're "guardians of democracy" and compares themselves to the civil rights mvmt.

What an appalling farce. In fact, the No Labels Party is deeply anti-democratic. We’ve got 5 reasons why, and that's before we get to electing Trump.🧵 thirdway.org/memo/how-no-la… First, all political parties must abide by strict rules about their money. Except, apparently, them. Experts say the No Labels Party is "walking right up to the line of what is permissible” under the law in order to keep donors secret and accept unlimited contributions. 2/ Image

In recent op-eds and TV appearances, the leaders of @NoLabelsOrg have repeatedly claimed that our efforts to convince them not to field a third-party candidate in 2024 is "anti-democratic." This is a quite rich, for a bunch of reasons. 🧵wsj.com/articles/democ… First, and most importantly, there has not been a threat to American democracy as profound as a second Trump presidency since Appomattox. And as many experts (including NL's allies) have noted, a third-party ticket could return him to office. 2/

Joe Manchin went on TV yesterday and hinted he may run on the @NoLabelsOrg ticket as a third-party candidate for president.

We hope not. He should run for Senate – only he can win as a D in WV. But if he doesn’t, he should NOT run for president. Because he’d lose. BADLY.
A 🧵 Image No Labels has a map they claim is a path to victory – 270 Electoral Votes – for their third-party candidate. In a new memo, we broke down its underlying assumptions. We took the map both literally and seriously. That wasn’t easy, as you’ll see. 2/

We get why Tom Reed supports the @NoLabelsOrg 3d party bid. He’s a Republican, and this effort would be certain to help the GOP nominee. But in this piece, he grossly mischaracterizes the impact it would have on the race. 🧵
realclearpolitics.com/articles/2023/… Reed gets 2 big things wrong. First, he says a 3d party candidate could win. That's a fantasy. No one has ever come close, including T. Roosevelt, who was, you know, POPULAR. None have garnered even a single electoral vote since 1968, including Ross Perot. None. Zero. 2/ Image

The GOP plan to steal the 2024 election for Trump could hinge on Glenn Youngkin winning the #VAGov race this year. That’s why electing @TerryMcAuliffe is vital to safeguarding our democracy. Here’s how it would happen if we don’t. #Thread 1/ The VA GOP has fully bought into the Big Lie about 2020. Youngkin has tried to downplay it lately, but he said his “top priority” was ensuring fair elections and has called for VA voting machines to be audited. His surrogates are even Bigger Liars. 2/

Thread: Bernie Sanders claims he’s the candidate who’s most likely to beat Trump. Ok, let’s take a hard look at his record, including his 20 years in public life before he got to Congress. That has never been examined closely.

#GoogleBernie There’s a reason that the Trump team told the @NYT that Bernie is their “ideal opponent.”
