A long ass🧵 on spiritual trauma and its affects on my life. Today I found myself frustrated that I still experience trauma from spiritual abuse & wonder why I'm still affected by it. It creeps up when I least expect it weighing me down. As I reflected on things I stumbled on old photo of a dog my family rescued growing up from and abusive home and I realized that in many ways my experience was a lot like hers. How does this relate to me you ask? Let me tell you.

I've seen a lot of pushback from evangelicals about those of us in the #deconstruction / #exvangelical process. They say we're too angry and need to move on or let go. This is true, we are angry from a multitude to reasons but its important to remember that behind that anger is years of pain, trauma, and even abuse of many kinds.
