It's important to hold govt agencies accountable. But it's also a shame when political intervention diminishes an agency's credibility & makes us assume the worst. That is what's happened w/ USPS.
Looking at the actual data, there's no evidence of ballot fraud or massive delays:
Look, DeJoy is extremely problematic and he's gotta go.
But regular USPS workers have processes in place for timely election mail delivery & theyre working hard.
USPS also has lots of dense analytics that're tough to parse through. Hard to capture all nuance in a snappy tweet.

Another USPS hearing underway now.
Big USPS data dump this morning. Plaintiffs are trying to distinguish between origin scans and destination scans (among local and non-local ballots) to figure out how many, if any, ballots mailed last minute were delivered in time.
Depending on where a ballot was mailed, what kind of scan it received, how far away it was going, and what the election rules are in the delivery jurisdiction will determine whether a ballot makes it in time to be counted.
A lot of data to trudge through here.

USPS hearing with Judge Sullivan is about to resume. I'll do my best to tweet along.
Earlier today the judge was not happy with USPS's responses as to why his order to sweep facilities yday was not followed. Judge is hoping to hear directly from USPS executives this afternoon.
Again, for the background on these cases, check out savethepostoffice.com:
This is your daily reminder to contact your reps and advocate for the U.S. Postal Service.
It's been a crazy 24 hours- big updates w/ Trump, DeJoy, & of course the millions of Americans who are still not receiving their mail.
Congress needs to act.
What's happening?
Trump stated that he plans to block any funding for USPS *because* he does not want millions to have access to mail-in ballots. Yes, you heard that correctly.
This is quite literally a threat to our democracy.
THE PROBLEM: New Trump-donor postmaster implemented policies to slow down mail. The delays are snowballing. USPS is broke.
THE SHORT TERM SOLUTION: Include USPS in next round of COVID relief funds.
THE LONG TERM SOLUTION: Pass USPS Fairness Act.

Let's unpack. Why's this important?
The USPS delivers *everywhere,* including rural areas that private deliveries skip. Vets & senior citizens rely on USPS for med deliveries. Small biz (like Etsy sellers) would go out of business w/o USPS's low prices. And also- the election /2

THREAD: Which Constitutional thing do you take most for granted? Probably the Post Office. Literally created in the Constitution, the Post Office is a critical part of our American fabric. But now it's in danger. 1/
Why have we taken the #USPS for granted? Well, it's usually quick, reliable, and low cost. Literally all of those things are at stake now -- its speed, reliability, and price. Why? And what can you do about it? I'll get there. 2/
