Monaco did not happen for me in 2005 but did happen in 2012.

New Yoruba Demons were involved, there was a yacht, the Billionaire’s club, and the Grand Prix.

I had just graduated from Columbia and wanted to go back to Paris on holiday. Called my retired model friend. She was still in France but she had moved to Monaco to study luxury.

I bought my ticket and packed my bags and left NY to Paris and then took the train to Monaco.

First thing first my suitcase did not arrive🥲, so I got to Monaco with book bag and sweatpants only.

Tinder Swindler has me thinking about a Nigerian man I met in Paris in 2005.

A friend (a retired model) invited me to meet him, said he was a childhood homie.

He was there with a party of usual suspects…governors, models of varying races, and then there was me, the guest. He was gorgeous with a Lagos meet Oxford accent 😁.

He was staying at the Plaza where one night €7000 and he had several rooms booked for his large party.

They flew in on a PJ from London and stopped in Paris for meetings en route to Monaco.

Any development that comes at the cost of destruction to our land and sea is not sustainable.

In 2017 we saw what “development” can do and how the environment responds when we create unnatural imbalances in the ecosystem.

The manmade mudslide cost us over 1000 lives. The Minister Marine Resources says: “sacrifice must be made”.

She says the fish factory next to the Western Area National Park at Black Johnson beach “will not be perfect but it will be near perfect”.

The Minister has not shown the environmental impact assessment.

I do more to prep for one episode of @african_experts than I ever need to do for @VickieRemoeShow.

The hardest part for me is writing the piece to camera for each African Experts episode.

It is usually 2mins long but it can take me 2 hours to write and days to research. There is a “winging it” playfulness I can bring to @VickieRemoeShow which is pre-recorded on the road that I can't bring to a live digital talk show like @african_experts.

The stakes just seem so much higher.

I do feel I'm talking to and about the entire continent.

The way the deaths are reported will obscure the facts.

Most of the reported #Covid19 deaths are not dying because their lungs fail and they are on ventilators.

The person who died in Kenema died from a botched operation. Yes Covid positive but not the virus that killed them. In other places people are dying from Covid because they can’t breathe.

Here people are dying from lack of medication for basic things and other healthcare issues successive govts have failed to address.

With or without the virus these people were going to die.
