As I explained to @WFP's Executive Board, hunger is soaring to terrifying levels in nations around the world.

We've now got 349M people marching towards starvation—that's up from 80M people when I took over this job. Furthermore, 49M people in 49 countries are at famine's door. Image Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, the #Ukraine war hits, and now the world is facing a fertilizer crisis. People don't realize that fertilizer grows the food that feeds half of the world’s 8 billion people.

It really is that simple: No fertilizers = no food.
